Description
- 📏 up to 35 cm
- 🌊 reef flats, rocky bottoms
The reef stonefish is one of the most venomous fish in the world. Perfectly camouflaged as a stone, it stays motionless on the bottom. Its dorsal spines inject a very painful and potentially deadly venom.
In island life
In Tahitian it is the nohu. It is always advised to wear reef shoes when walking on the reef flat.
