The green humphead parrotfish is the largest parrotfish in the world. It carries an enormous bump on its forehead, which it sometimes uses to ram rivals or to crunch hard coral. It lives in large groups that eat dead coral and produce tonnes of coral sand every year. It sleeps in caves.
Did you know?
Groups of humphead parrotfish are rare: they are very vulnerable to night fishing, which makes them precious for the health of the reef.
